Our (losing) Hyundai Video Battle Entry

Someone from the marketing department at Hyundai decided to put together a contest where they would give away a car. Luckily, they chose the 3.8 V6 powered Genesis coupe as the prize, as we can't see another car in the "other H" lineup that anyone in their right mind would want. The rules were simple: showcase a Genesis doing something interesting, use nothing outside of Forza Motorsport 3, and build the best 60 second commercial montage using their supplied music.

We were a certian that we were winners. We often repeated in the FM.net forums that there were many good entries. We were always lying, because when it comes to commenting on the creative efforts of others, lying is polite. Remember that.

"We want to do for motorsport what MTV did for music: spark interest in a younger, attention deficit audience while obliterating the soul of the original subject matter they were trying to portray."

Nissan originally started building the 300zx in the 80's, and set a new standard for production sports cars. Timeless design, cutting edge tech, and ludicrous power came standard with every twin-turbo model, but none of these mantras detracted from the fun-oriented feeling present in older Z cars.

After Nissan was taken over by the French in 1999, they built the 350z, which couldn't hold a candle to the 300zx. Over 20 years after the twin-turbo started rolling off the assembly line, the car maker seems to have found a worthy competitor in the 370z.

Car of the Decade

At the end of every year, auto journalists are beset with a famine of newsworthy content. With the brunt of consumers focused on gift-giving — and their soaring credit card balances — very few are salivating over the prospect of financing a new car. To fill the gaping chasm that is their front page, columnists sometimes churn out reviews about cars nobody particularly cares about, like the Bentley Mulsanne and the new Merc Gullwing. Your local newspaper stands as a testament to this.

Forza Motorsport 3 Video

This absolutely defies description. Calling this stunt driving or drifting simply fails to capture the ridiculous things captured on video here. By using AWD, this Japanese stunt driver has managed to create a car that seems to be equally happy to turn into a corner backwards. It's not just the driving that's absurd, it's the sheer concept that someone woke up one morning and thought "Hm, I bet racing down mountain roads would be exciting in a 1-ton pogo stick."
